Authorities Wednesday worked to determine what sparked a fire in Palm City that caused $170,000 in damage to a home and left one resident with a minor burn injury.
The fire at 757 Desty St. was reported at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday and took about 20 minutes to put out, according to San Diego fire-rescue Capt. Joe Amador.
A man who lives in the home was treated at the scene for a minor burn injury, the captain said in a statement.
“The fire appeared to have started in the garage,” Amador said, adding that the cause was under investigation and damage was estimated at $170,000.
