The San Diego Sheriff is seeking the public’s help in locating a missing hiker who was last seen Friday walking toward El Capitan Mountain in Lakeside.
Jerry Lee Hooton was last seen around 3 p.m. on Friday by a friend hiking towards the Peak of El Capitan Mountain in Lakeside. Hooton did not return to the vehicle he arrived to the mountain in and has not returned home.
He is described as 5’9″ tall, 185 Lbs. with brown/gray hair. He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, blue jeans, gray shoes, and carrying a yellow backpack.
Anyone who has seen Hooton or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 858-565-5200.
