A search was underway Saturday for the Chula Vista man who allegedly ran down his estranged wife and left the woman dying in the roadway.
Cesar Castillo, 37, was suspected of repeatedly running over over his wife with his white Chevy Silverado shortly before 7 p.m. Friday, according to a Chula Vista Police statement.
The apparent murder was in the 1100 block of Elm Avenue.
The woman, whose name was not released but was said to be in her 30s, died at the scene from “massive head and internal injuries,” police said.
Castillo, who works in the Mission Bay area as a maintenance man, likely fled to Mexico, according to the police statement.
Police said Castillo should be considered armed and dangerous. They asked anyone with additional information on the suspect or his whereabouts to call (619) 585-5665.
