A San Diego Fire-Rescue team Wednesday morning rescued a man and a woman a man and woman who were stuck halfway down the cliff below the Torrey Pines Gliderport.

Spokesman Lee Swanson said the woman made the 9-1-1 call from her cell phone, which also gave lifeguards and police an accurate longitude and latitude of their location.

The woman was uninjured, Swanson said. The man, who was about 20 yards further down the cliff, had a minor leg injury.

A rescuer rappelled down the cliff and both victims were lowered to the beach and driven to an ambulance. The man was transported to a hospital.
