A shooting in the El Cerrito section of San Diego on Tuesday left a male and female wounded, according to police and reports from the scene.

The shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the 4200 block of 54th Place, the San Diego Police Department reported.

According to ABC10, the victims were a man and a woman who got into an argument with the gunman prior to the shooting.

The shooter was described as an Asian man in his 30s and a black Toyota Celica was seen leaving the area after the shooting, according to FOX5, which reported that both victims were taken to Mercy Hospital.

Homicide detectives were dispatched to the scene, police said.
