A 41-year-old man shot by a motorcycle-riding gunman while sitting in a parked car in Golden Hill died of his wounds over the weekend, police said Monday.

Vaafuti Togiailua of San Diego was in the 900 block of 26th Street about 6:40 a.m. Wednesday when he was shot several times in the upper body, according to San Diego police Lt. Paul Rorrison.

Paramedics took him to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he died Sunday, the lieutenant stated.

Witnesses said the gunman was wearing a gray jumpsuit and riding an older model motorcycle, Rorrison said.
