Two teenagers who menaced a third with knives outside an Oceanside Starbucks were in police custody Thursday.
Police arrived at 845 College Blvd., based on a 8:21 a.m. call from the victim’s mother, and the suspects — a boy and girl — were arrested in a nearby marshy area and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Cosby.
Police withheld their names because they are juveniles.
The victim’s mother told police she was inside ordering drinks while her son was outside, where he was confronted, Cosby said. Both suspects had knives, he said.
When the woman came outside to intervene, the young man spit on her, he said. How the dispute started was not disclosed.
