At least one person was injured and a dog was killed in a two-car crash in Vista early Monday.

The crash at Civic Center Drive and South Santa Fe Avenue was reported at 4:55 a.m., according to San Diego County Sheriff‘s Lt. Jim Walker.

Paramedics took at least one person to Palomar Medical Center, a fire department dispatcher said.

It was not immediately clear whether the dog was struck in the roadway or was in of one of the cars.
