An electrical fire Thursday night at an Egger Highlands neighborhood home left six people without a home and caused around $400,000 in damage.
The fire forced five adults and an infant to look for temporary housing, and caused $300,000 in damage to the property and $100,000 in damage to its contents, said San Diego Fire-Rescue Department spokesman Lee Swanson.
The fire at the single-story home at 1868 Elm Ave. was reported around 11:45 p.m. Thursday, according to Swanson.
Crews had the fire knocked down around midnight, and one person was taken to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, Swanson said.
