The District Attorney’s Office Wednesday was weighing whether to file criminal charges against an El Cajon doctor accused of sexually assaulting at least one female patient at a low-income clinic.

Court records showed the Department of Consumer Affairs-Health Quality Investigation Unit recently investigated Dr. Jeffrey Abrams on suspicion of sexual penetration of an unconscious person and sexual battery of an unconscious person, according to KFMB Channel 8.

Abrams, who has not been arrested, also stands accused of using his cell phone to take thousands of photographs of his female patients while their were undressed in an exam room. At least one of his alleged victims has retained a lawyer.

“He told her to take off her clothes and then took pictures of her breasts and her naked body,” the woman’s attorney, Jessica Pride, told Fox 5 News.

The alleged misconduct took place at Volunteers in Medicine, a low- income clinic located at 1457 E. Madison Ave.

Abrams has been practicing medicine for 40 years without a criminal complaint, according to Fox 5 News.
