A knife-wielding thief and his female accomplice robbed a Little Italy furniture store Friday, authorities reported.

The couple, who appeared to be in their 20s, confronted a clerk at the business in the 1500 block of Front Street shortly before noon, according to San Diego police.

The man pointed the weapon at the employee and demanded money, SDPD Officer Frank Cali said. After the victim handed over an undisclosed amount of money, the robbers fled the area to the south.

The male bandit was described as a roughly 6-foot Latino with a “military type” haircut, Cali said. He was dressed in blue jeans and a tie-dyed shirt and was accompanied by a thin, 5-foot-6-inch white woman with shoulder-length blond hair. She was wearing a red-and-white flower-pattern dress, the sergeant said.
