San Diego police on Friday marked the nine-year anniversary of an unsolved homicide by asking the public to help catch the killer.
Ricardo Lomeli, 26, was stopped at a traffic light in his vehicle at 60th Street and Federal Boulevard around 9:30 p.m. Oct. 14, 2005, when he was fired on and fatally wounded, according to a Crime Stoppers bulletin.
The gunman was one of two Hispanic men who pulled up alongside Lomeli in a black SUV, police said, adding that the gunman exited the SUV before opening fire. After fatally wounding Lomeli, the gunman got back into the SUV as it was driven away.
Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to contact SDPD homicide detectives at (619) 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 or sdcrimestoppers.org.
Crime Stoppers offers a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
