A 36-year-old victim was shot in the head at an apartment complex in Spring Valley, and the suspected gunman was behind bars.
The shooting in the 3100 block of Sweetwater Springs Boulevard near Loma Lane was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
Several callers told dispatchers the suspect was holed up in one of the apartments, which prompted deputies to evacuate neighboring units, sheriff’s Lt. Clayton Lisk said.
The deputies eventually arrested Kamram Guster, 25, Lisk said. He was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, according to jail records.
Lisk said the gun used in the shooting has been recovered.
The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, NBC7 reported.
