Witnesses helped a 21-year-old woman escape a man who apparently tried to sexually assault her Saturday in a parking lot at a La Jolla commercial center, police reported.
The alleged attempted sexual assault occurred at 8:27 p.m. Saturday at 4500 La Jolla Village Drive, said San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims.
The man grabbed the woman and pulled her into the bushes, Heims said. “The suspect attempted to assault the victim. The victim started screaming, and witnesses chased the suspect. The suspect got away,” Heims said.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man with a mustache wearing a shirt with black and white long sleeves, black pants and black baseball cap.
