Video of man who robbed a Domino’s Pizza in Palm City at gunpoint was made public Thursday in the hope of catching the crook.

The suspect parked a rental pickup truck near the restaurant at 3388 Palm Ave. about 10 p.m. on July 13, cased the area for several minutes, then went in through an unlocked back door, according to San Diego police and Crime Stoppers.

He pulled a black semiautomatic handgun from the waistband of his pants, pointed it an an employee and demanded money from the restaurant’s safe, authorities said. Along with the money he was handed by the employee, he also took a bank deposit bag from the safe.

Authorities said the robber then left the restaurant and drove off westbound on Palm Avenue.

Police described the suspect as black, about 35, about 6 feet and 215 pounds. He was using a bandanna to cover his face, and had on a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black gloves.

The suspect’s vehicle was a white newer Ford F-150 U-Haul truck with orange markings along the sides.
