A woman was attacked from behind and lost consciousness in an attack in the North Park neighborhood early Sunday, police said.
The incident occurred at 1:20 a.m. in the 2900 block of Lincoln Avenue, said San Diego Police Sgt. Shawn Takeuchi. That address is about two blocks away from University Avenue at 30th Street.
“A woman was walking alone and was attacked from behind by an unidentified suspect, and knocked to the ground where she lost consciousness,” Takeuchi said.
The victim later regained conscious and was able to walk home, where she called police, Takeuchi said.
Takeuchi said the attack was similar to another incident about a month ago, one block away. On June 24, another woman walking alone was attacked from behind.
Police today reminded pedestrians to be aware of their surroundings and to immediately report suspicious activity to police at (619) 531-2000 or 911.
Officers asked anyone with information on either attack to call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 or the San Diego Police Department Sex Crimes Unit at (619) 531-2210.
