A man was shot in the chest by his girlfriend Saturday night in San Diego’s Otay Mesa area, police said.
Two children, age six and 12, were at a home in the 600 block of Picador Boulevard when the shooting occurred at 7:13 p.m., San Diego Police Officer David Stafford said.
“A 33-year-old female called police saying she shot her 36-year-old boyfriend,” he said. Officers who responded to the call took the woman into custody, Stafford said.
He said the victim, who was transported to a local trauma center with a single gunshot wound to the chest, was in surgery and his status was “unknown at this time.”
