One of three motorcycle riders who ran a red light in Lemon Grove and led a patrol sergeant on a pursuit early Thursday crashed into a center divider as his fellow riders sped away.
The group of three ran a red right at Lemon Grove Avenue and Palm Street at about 1:40 a.m., according to San Diego Sheriff‘s Lt. Eddie Brock.
As the pack turned onto eastbound Broadway, it sped up to about 90 mph, Brock said.
Two of the riders turned onto southbound Sweetwater Road, but the third, who was carrying a female passenger, crashed into a median, the lieutenant said.
That driver was taken to a hospital to be treated for a leg injury, Brock said. It was unclear if the passenger was hurt.
Brock said the rider was issued a “notify warrant” requiring a court appearance on a felony evading charge.
