Forty-six people were stuck on the Skytower ride at SeaWorld for several hours Sunday due to a power outage, fire officials said.
The Skytower is the 320-foot tower that dominates the park. The ride gives passengers a six-minute view of SeaWorld, Mission Bay and San Diego. As the capsule rises, it spins slowly to provide a 360-degree view.
The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department was made aware of the situation at 5:35 p.m. and was on standby as SeaWorld technicians worked to repair the ride, said department spokesman Lee Swanson.
Power was restored and everyone was off the ride by 7:30 p.m., Swanson said.
One child and one teenager had to be hospitalized with unknown injuries, he said.
