Bomb-arson personnel disarmed a World War II-era hand grenade that was found Monday underneath a Barrio Logan house.

The discovery in the 3100 block of Boston Avenue was reported shortly after 4 p.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

An ordnance-handling team deactivated the grenade, then took it to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar for disposal, the department’s Lee Swanson said.
