Authorities Thursday sought the public’s help to identify and find the man who used some type of device to look up a woman’s dress at a Palm City grocery store last week.

The woman was shopping at the Vons store at 665 Saturn Blvd. north of Palm Avenue about 4 p.m. June 6 when the suspect approached her while she was distracted, according to San Diego police and Crime Stoppers.

The suspect crouched down and held a device — which could have been a cell phone — under the victim’s dress, unbeknown to her, police said. A store employee who saw the incident informed the woman of what had happened.

Despite being seen and having his image captured on surveillance tape, the suspect walked out of the store and has not been found.

Authorities described the suspect as white, 6 feet 1 to 6 feet 3, 180 to 200 pounds with a thin build and bald with a goatee. He was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans shorts and sandals.

Anyone with information was asked to call police at (619) 424-0400, or contact Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 or via email at sdcrimestoppers.org.
