One person died and two others were injured Tuesday in a fire that spread through a mobile home at a trailer park near Lake Jennings.
The blaze in the 14000 block of Highway 8 Business in the Lakeside area was reported shortly after 10 a.m., according to Heartland Fire & Rescue. It took firefighters about 40 minutes to fully extinguish the flames, agency spokeswoman Monica Zech said.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, sheriff’s Lt. Clayton Lisk said. The victim’s name was withheld pending family notification.
Medics took two other people to UCSD Medical Center in San Diego for treatment of injuries of undisclosed severity, a dispatcher said.
Fire investigators were called in to determine what sparked the blaze, Lisk said.
