A 74-year-old man with dementia and insulin-dependent diabetes who went missing from an assisted living facility near Serra Mesa was found nearby Sunday sunburned and dehydrated.
Around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Richard Newsom walked away from the facility at 2828 Meadow Lark Drive in an unknown direction, according to San Diego police.
He turned up around 3 p.m. today in the 7800 block of Vista Hill Avenue and was taken to a hospital, authorities said.
Police officials said Newsom was sunburned and dehydrated, but his condition did not appear to be life-threatening.
