A fugitive considered armed and dangerous — and known to dress like a woman — is being sought by authorities, who released his photo Friday.
San Diego County Crime Stoppers is working with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force to find and arrest Daniel Juarez Martinez, 33.
Martinez has a felony arrest warrant for arson, domestic violence and making criminal threats, police say. Martinez has used a number of aliases including using “Daniel Catavarrias” and “Daniel Juarez” as his last name.
In February 2014, Martinez attacked and threatened his wife, authorities said.
“He also set fire to their home in Bonita before fleeing,” said a news release. “It is believed Martinez fled to Mexico sometime in March. There is a strong likelihood that Martinez has returned to the San Diego area.”
Martinez was last driving a black 2010 Toyota Camry with California License Plate: 6KHS540.
He has connections in the South Bay here in San Diego County. Martinez also has ties further north in the Glendale area of Los Angeles County.
Martinez is addicted to narcotics and is known to be armed, authorities said.
He stands about 5 feet 9 inches and weighs about 160 pounds. Martinez has brown hair and brown eyes. He has several tattoos, including three black circles on his right arm and the letters “DD” on the side of his torso. Martinez is also known to dress like a woman.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Martinez should call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case. Anonymous email and text messages can be sent in via sdcrimestoppers.com.
