A 20-year-old man was in custody Tuesday and his 21-year- old victim was hospitalized with multiple knife wounds after an assault in Oceanside.
The victim was in critical condition with multiple stab wounds to his chest, abdomen and an arm, said Oceanside police Lt. George Darrah.
The assault occurred in the 3600 block of Spyglass Way around 4:55 p.m. Monday, Darrah said. The 20-year-old man fled after the attack but then returned to ask the victim and a female witness to name someone else as the assailant, Darrah said.
The witness pointed the suspect out to police as he was standing next to the victim, Darrah said. The suspect, Joseph Flores, was then taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
Darrah said the suspect, victim and witness were all known to each other.
