A sheriff’s helicopter crew came to the rescue of a hiker who fell and suffered a broken leg Monday on a trail near Lake Poway.
The accident off the 14600 block of Lake Poway Road was reported shortly after 11:30 a.m., sheriff’s Lt. Clayton Lisk said.
The aircraft personnel were sent in to pick up the victim, whose identity was not released, for transport to a hospital, the lieutenant said.
The circumstances of the hiker’s fall were unclear.
