A man suffered burns on 50 percent of his body in an apartment fire in Solana Beach early Wednesday.
The fire at 833 South Cedros Ave. erupted around 2 a.m., according to San Diego County sheriff’s Sgt. Joe Tomaiko.
Firefighters rescued the injured man from an apartment and took him to UCSD Burn Center to treat serious burns covering 50 percent of his body, the sergeant said in a statement.
A total of six apartments were evacuated, he said.
Because a serious injury occurred, the sheriff’s bomb arson unit was called to investigate the cause of the blaze.
