A motorcyclist was killed early Thursday in a hit-and-run when he crashed in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 and was struck by a pickup truck.
The man lost control of his 2001 Suzuki about 12:45 a.m. while riding near West Washington Street south of Old Town, according to the California Highway Patrol.
He fell onto the roadway, where a black Dodge Ram hit him, the CHP reported. The motorist did not stop.
The name of the victim, 43, of San Diego, was withheld pending notification of kin.
