Nearly 70 Chula Vista drivers were ticketed Sunday for speeding and other violations during a patrol focused on factors that contribute to crashes.
Chula Vista police stopped 73 vehicles between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and cited 61 motorists for speeding, four with suspended licenses, one whose child was not properly restrained and another with an illegal window tint, police said.
Two passengers were ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt, police said.
Police officials said the four-hour operation concentrated on speed, aggressive driving, seatbelt and pedestrian violations along with other traffic hazards that can lead to fatal and injury crashes.
