Two San Diego men and a boy were arrested Tuesday after overnight robberies in El Cajon and San Diego.
About 9:45 p.m. Monday, one of the three grabbed a woman’s cell phone while she was using it at Parkway Plaza, 415 Fletcher Parkway, said El Cajon police Lt. Rob Ransweiler. The trio then ran away.
The woman was unhurt, Ransweiler said.
Ransweiler said the juvenile; Antwonne Darrell Hartfield, 24; and Jayvon Bailey, 19, were arrested on suspicion of robbing two men about 1:40 a.m. on South Johnson Avenue near West Main Street.
One of the suspects allegedly pointed a handgun at the victims and demanded their wallets, according to Ransweiler.
The victims chased the suspects until losing sight of them in the vicinity of South Johnson Avenue and El Cajon Boulevard, then called 911, Ransweiler said.
Ransweiler said the suspects appeared be involved in other robberies in San Diego.
Officers from El Cajon and La Mesa, along with California Highway Patrol officers and a Sheriff’s Department helicopter crew searched the area and found two of the suspects in the 300 block of Richfield Avenue near West Palm Avenue. The third suspect was spotted in a speeding 2005 Volvo S40, stopped and arrested, Ransweiler said.
Ransweiler said evidence in the vehicle linked the driver to the robberies, and property from both robberies was found with the other suspects.
All three were booked on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy and possession of stolen property, Ransweiler said.
