One of the most beloved traditions on the Point Loma High campus takes place on Friday as current students and alumni celebrate the school’s 100th Homecoming, its glorious past and lasting traditions.

On the gridiron, the 4-0 Pointer football team tangles with the 3-1 Del Norte Nighthawks in
a 7 p.m. kickoff. The anticipated halftime show will highlight Point Loma’s alumni,
outstanding marching band, cheerleaders and a parade of student skits and dances.
The student theme for halftime is “Boy Bands,” according to ASB adviser Amy Denney.
Freshmen have selected Maroon 5, sophomores the Jonas Brothers, juniors the Backstreet
Boys and the Class of 2027 will salute One Direction.
Students were encouraged to dress according to themes this week, including Western on Monday, Fraternity/Sorority on Tuesday, Music Merchandise on Wednesday, 2016 Day on Thursday and Pink Out Friday.
The sold-out Homecoming dance is set from 7-10 p.m. Saturday at Bloom, a downtown, a private event venue.
