It’s a lucky day for sandwich lovers in Chula Vista. A new Jimmy John’s location opened its doors Wednesday in Eastlake Village Marketplace.
The restaurant will operate as a co-location, sharing space with Dunkin’ Donuts, with both restaurants owned and operated by local franchisee and veteran Tali Burton.
The store’s classification as a co-location does not equate to cobranding, though, meaning that customers will not be able to buy their coffee at the same counter as club sandwiches; rather, the storefronts are separate but share a back-of-house for efficiency.
While sandwiches already are being sold, Sunday is the restaurant’s official grand opening. Starting at 10 a.m., the first 25 Freaky Fast Reward members in line will be surprised with a Free Sandwiches for a Year giveaway.
“Our team is passionate about serving great food to our communities and we are thrilled to bring two beloved brands to one unique co-location for guests to enjoy,” Burton said in a news release.
At 11:30 a.m., Burton will celebrate his team’s third Jimmy John’s location in California and host the shop’s official ribbon-cutting ceremony. Other prizes for lucky guests include coupons for a free sandwich or for a free side with the purchase of a sandwich.
The site may be a one-stop location for donuts, coffee and sandwiches – but only later in the day. Dunkin’ opens as early as 4:30 a.m., but Jimmy John’s won’t be slicing salami before the sun rises – doors open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
