This week Times of San Diego will kick off our first-ever year-end donation campaign, seeking your support for responsible local journalism in San Diego County.

As many of you know, Times of San Diego earlier this year joined NEWSWELL, a nonprofit organization affiliated with Arizona State University and the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Thanks to NEWSWELL, we are adding staff, expanding areas of coverage and partnering with other news organizations to bring you the best possible reporting.

These are among the reasons why we were recognized again — for the eighth year — as the best news website in San Diego in the annual San Diego Press Club awards.

We still have plenty of work to do before 2024 ends, but we also want to be ready for what 2025 will bring. With your help, we can be.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 by Dec. 31. That’s ambitious, we know — but we’re confident that together we can get there.

If you’re able to make a contribution to this campaign, we’d greatly appreciate it. Please use our new contribution portal:

I want to support timely, comprehensive journalism in the San Diego area. Count me in.

We couldn’t have gotten to where we are today without your support, so let me say once again: Thank you.
