The country’s largest consortium for ocean and water technologies kicks off this Monday in San Diego.
TMA BlueTech’s sixteenth annual BlueTech Week includes panels, discussions, and speeches from elected officials and experts on the intersection of security and sustainability, but through a maritime lens and with the focus on global technologies.
This year’s event, themed “Bridging Gaps,” focuses on the sustainability and security of the blue economy going into the next administration, as well as San Diego’s role in maritime defense and climate resilience.
San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria was the keynote speaker for this year’s event.
“This year, BlueTech Week is innovating yet again by exploring the powerful intersection between maritime defense, maritime decarbonization, and ocean resilience technologies,” TMA BlueTech said in a release.
“We invite you to join us on this groundbreaking journey, which has high positive-impact potential for not only ocean and coastal ecosystem worldwide, but for high-value commercial opportunities in these three sectors as well.”
TMA BlueTech describes itself as a member-based organizer of a leading BlueTech cluster in the United States. It brings together groups and individuals to identify and solve issues in a world in the process of being reshaped by a changing climate.
