It may still be blistering hot, but fall will be in the air on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 3-6 p.m.

The Forum Carlsbad welcomes the community to join in its Fall Art & Wine Walk. This event promises an afternoon filled with art displays and wine tasting, taking place within the outdoor lifestyle shopping center, managed by Northwood Retail.

The Fall Art & Wine Walk is a complimentary event that showcases a diverse range of artistic talents, including paintings, ceramics, photography, and more. Visitors will have the opportunity to stroll through The Forum Carlsbad, discovering unique artwork from visiting and local artists displayed throughout participating shops and restaurants.

In addition to the visual art, guests are encouraged to visit the Wine Garden, located near YETI, for a special tasting experience presented by Jimbo’s. The Wine Garden will feature a curated selection of fine wines from around the globe, accompanied by a seasonal charcuterie table from Mirabelle Charcuterie, all set to the soothing live acoustic sounds of the talented Shea Givens. Please note that guests must be 21 years or older to enter the Wine Garden.

“We’re excited to once again bring the community together at The Forum Carlsbad for this celebration of local art and wine,” said Trish Pruitt, vice president of marketing for Northwood Retail. “The Fall Art & Wine Walk offers a wonderful opportunity for visitors to connect with local artists, enjoy great wine, and experience the creative spirit that makes Carlsbad so special.”

A diverse selection of wineries will be serving an array of exceptional wine varietals at the event. Lubanzi Wines will offer a Rosé Bubbles, with hints of strawberry, lemon, and honeysuckle, as well as a 2023 Chenin Blanc, featuring tastes of fresh summer peaches, poppyseed cake with lemon drizzle. Massanois will present Giordano Lombardo Vigne di San Martino, known for its fragrant acacia notes, as well as the Stringtown Oregon Pinot Noir, celebrated for its pure, elegant, juicy, and approachable profile. Mendocino Wine Company will showcase its 2022 Moniker Chardonnay, with subtle notes of lemon, honeysuckle, and graham cracker, as well as the 2022 True Grit Petite Sirah, boasting flavors of black cherry and plum, complemented by enticing notes of licorice, nutmeg, and vanilla.

This event also provides a chance to give back, as donations will be accepted on behalf of Shelter to Soldier, a nonprofit organization that adopts dogs from local shelters and trains them to become psychiatric service dogs for veterans. The organization also places emotional support animals with active-duty military and veterans.

An array of curated artwork will be integrated throughout the center:

Adi Kordovi is the artist behind Glazed & Fired Ceramics. Adi specializes in creating decorative and functional ceramic pieces, ranging from whimsical sculptures to stoneware and small artwork, each piece of pottery is handcrafted from start to finish and high-fired twice, ensuring that every creation is unique and designed to bring joy to your home. With many years of experience as an artist and potter, her passion for this craft continues to grow with each piece she creates.

Gather Wild is a women-owned brand that sells creative handcrafted home goods inspired by nature. Through foraging along beaches and trails nature treasures are collected, pressed, and preserved to be artistically arranged in jewelry and home decor.

Ilana Dashe is a Colombian-American printmaker creating original artwork in North County San Diego. Ilana is most known for her clean, modern designs – often using patterns in her work and unusual color combinations and juxtapositions to represent an often-seen subject in a new way. Her art sets her apart from others because her printmaking process and style are unique. Ilana uses limited color palettes and simplifies shapes and designs to convey a message or theme or simply make a composition that challenges her. She is an abstract artist with her own point of view that comes across clearly through ink on paper.

Inger Taylor is a contemporary abstract artist whose work is intended to evoke emotion. Every painting is an organic process that starts with a rough idea that takes on its own shape and feel.

Kelsey Overstreet is an accomplished abstract painter and printmaker, working with water-based paints, oil sticks, thread, and spray paint.  Her artistic journey is rooted in process-based abstraction, with conceptual explorations that delve into mark-making as a representation of both celebration and clean-up. The act of creating becomes a sensory sharing experience between the artist, and observer, and a blueprint of contemporary human existence. Overstreet’s choice of materials reflects themes of relationship, conflict, connection, resolve, and the beauty born from chaos.

Participating artists and vendors will be announced ongoing. Updated information is available here
