The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped one-tenth of a cent Thursday for the second consecutive day to $4.823.

The average price is 1.7 cents less than one week ago, 17.3 cents lower than one month ago and 7.3 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.612 since rising to a record $6.435 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose for the fourth consecutive day, increasing two-tenths of a cent to $3.515. It has risen 3.4 cents over the past four days, including 1.2 cents Wednesday.

The national average price is 1.2 cents more than one week ago but three-tenths of a cent less than one month ago and 1.4 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $1.501 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
