
A plum seasonal position is up for grabs – more than 1,000 temporary workers are needed for the San Diego County Fair.
The wide range of jobs includes ticket takers, traffic directors, guest services, exhibits attendants, laborers and many more. Indoor and outdoor jobs. The fair, which runs 20 days this year, features animals, rides, games, live music, entertainment, education, community exhibits, food and more.
“We love building our team every year to help officially get the summer started in San Diego County,” said Carlene Moore, the CEO of the 22nd District Agricultural Association, which produces the fair and owns and operates the Del Mar Fairgrounds. “… There is no better place to work in the summer than at the San Diego County Fair.”
Hiring has begun for many positions, some of which start prior to the beginning of the fair, on June 12. The fair continues through July 7, with off days on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Current job postings can be viewed online, where those who are interested may also apply. More positions will be posted in the coming weeks.
Hourly pay starts at $16, but could be higher depending on the position. Perks include deeply discounted fair tickets and flexible hours.
Applicants who have previously worked for the fair are welcome to apply again for any position that suits their interests and abilities.
The San Diego County Fair is the largest annual event in the region with roots that date back to 1880. The theme for the 2024 fair is “Let’s Go Retro,” a voyage back in time from the ’50s through the start of the new millennium.
