Spirit Airlines is adding five new destinations to its route map at San Diego International Airport starting in April.

The new service includes daily nonstop flights to Baltimore (BWI), Houston (IAH), Portland (PDX), Sacramento (SMF), and Salt Lake City (SLC).

Daily service to Sacramento begins April 10, with Houston flights coming online May 8. Flights to Baltimore will be available three times a week beginning May 9, expanding to daily service May 21.

Flights to Portland will begin June 5 and to Salt Lake City June 20.

The new routes mean Spirit’s service in San Diego will grow to eight nonstop destinations and 12 daily departures by June.

Spirit arrived at San Diego International in 2011. Currently the airline flies daily to Las Vegas and San Jose and five times a week to Oakland.

Spirit, known as a low-cost airline, flies an Airbus fleet and serves more than 90 destinations across the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean.
