The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose to its highest amount since Dec. 3 Saturday, increasing nine-tenths of a cent to $4.939.
The average price has risen four consecutive days, increasing 2.8 cents, including 1.5 cents Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 2 cents more than one week ago, 12.4 cents higher than one month ago and nine-tenths of a cent more than one year ago.
The average price has dropped $1.496 since rising to a record $6.435 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose 1.7 cents to $3.455, its fourth consecutive increase. It rose two-tenths of a cent Wednesday, 1.6 cents Thursday and 2.6 cents Friday.
The national average price is 5.8 cents more than one week ago and 17.1 cents higher than one month ago, but nine-tenths of a cent less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.561 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
