Sure, Valentine’s Day is the most romantic day of the year. And dating sites are a common way to meet someone. But heard of Dirty John? Or pig butchering?

No? Then the “Romance Scams Webinar,” a free presentation by San Diego County Credit Union, might be for you. And it takes place, naturally, at noon Feb. 14.

Hosted by former San Diego County Deputy District Attorney Paul Greenwood, the webinar will focus on scam artists who exploit people’s vulnerabilities online and how-to strategies to protect yourself – and your savings.

To register for the hour-long session, visit sdccu.com.

Greenwood, who has prosecuted more than 600 felony cases of elder and dependent adult abuse in his 25-year career, is currently co-chair of the California District Attorney Elder Abuse Committee.

He has been featured on both CBS’s “Eye on America” and NBC’s “Nightly News.” Greenwood has received numerous accolades, including the “Visionary for Change” Award, San Diego County Bar Public Service Attorney Award and the Professional Leadership Award by the Elder Financial Protection Network.

The webinar is part of SDCCU’s Financial Wellness Wednesdays, launched in partnership with the San Diego County Library System as part of Live Well San Diego.
