Craving something sweet and melt-in-your-mouth delicious? Maybe topped with bacon? peanut butter? You’re in luck.
On Thursday The Islander, Coronado Islands’s tiki-inspired restaurant by Blue Bridge Hospitality, officially opened the Dinky Donut Shack at 1015 Orange Avenue.
The shack features a selection of mini donut flavors daily — from the classics to signature toppings, including ube- or guava-glazed, banana-nutella, and peanut butter cup.
The craze for small donuts is already popular across the bay in San Diego, where The Mini Donut Company has storefronts in Liberty Public Market, Little Italy Food Hall and Windmill Food Hall.
On Coronado the new Dinky Donut Shack, previously known as the Dawn Patrol Breakfast Shack, caters to Coronado locals and visitors and will continue to serve espresso and coffee drinks and a selection of breakfast foods.
The shack is open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and will serve fresh Dinky Donuts until they sell out each day.
