The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose 2.7 cents Saturday to $5.042, its highest amount since Nov. 28.

The average price has increased five consecutive days. It is 9.1 cents more than one week ago and 17.3 cents higher than one month ago, but 55.7 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

It has dropped $1.331 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5.

The national average price rose for the 11th consecutive day, increasing 1.4 cents to $3.746. It is 15.5 cents more than one week ago and 19.7 cents higher than one month ago, but 50.9 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.27 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.

“Gas prices are up around the country as oil prices have risen to their highest levels since April,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
