AMLI Residential, a developer of sustainable luxury apartment communities, has announced the groundbreaking for its first project in the San Diego market.
The project, AMLI Aero, stands as one of the first such developments to break ground as part of Kearny Mesa’s 2020 community plan update.
“Our goal is to offer an urban lifestyle, minus the downsides that are sometimes associated with downtown city living,” said Jason Armison, AMLI’s executive vice president of California development.
Located at the corner of Aero Drive and Aero Court, the building will be seven stories tall and feature 434 apartments. The residences will include studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans, with two-story options on top floors and live-work floor plans on the ground floor. The spaces range from 576 to 1,602 square feet.
The project is set to be completed in May 2025, with pre-leasing expected to begin five months earlier.
The apartments will feature contemporary interior finishes and upgraded appliances, from quartz countertops and stainless steel Samsung appliances to custom kitchen cabinetry with integrated lighting and Moen kitchen and bath fixtures. The units also will feature smart home technology including Latch door hardware and Nest thermostats.
Contractors on the project include: general contracting, KPRS; architecture, Architects Orange; interior design, Parisi Portfolio, and landscape design, Urban Arena.
AMLI currently owns and manages 80 apartment communities; the seven in Southern California offer more than 2,500 apartments.
