Two new Chick-fil-A restaurants opened locally this week on opposite ends of San Diego County, the company announced.

On Thursday, the Vista Chick-fil-A opened, in Vista Village. The day before, Chick-fil-A Ocean View Hills welcomed customers for the first time.

The details for each restaurant:

  • Chick-fil-A Hwy 78 & Vista Village, 475 Hacienda Drive, 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday., dine in, drive-thru and carry out, owned by Luis Gomez, who began working with the company in Texas. As a part of the Chick-fil-A Leadership Development Program, he helped open 13 restaurants in two years.
  • Chick-fil-A Ocean View Hills, 804 Dennery Road, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, dine in, carry out, with expanded drive-thru hours, to 11 p.m.  San Diego native Jon Tucker, the independent franchised owner/operator, began his journey with Chick-fil-A more than a decade ago at 15 when he was hired for his first job.

The two openings will create positions for approximately 350 full- and part-time employees while bringing the total number of Chick-fil-A locations in greater San Diego to 18. The new restaurants will be operated by franchise owners who live and work in the communities in which they serve.

In honor of the openings, Chick-fil-A, Inc., based in Atlanta, will donate $25,000 for each restaurant to Feeding America. The combined $50,000 will be distributed to local partners to fight hunger.

In addition, the two new restaurants are each recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the community by providing them with free food for a year.
