The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped Friday for the 16th consecutive day, decreasing 1.2 cents to $3.91, its lowest amount since Sept. 27.
The average price has dropped 14.8 cents over the past 16 days, including 1.4 cents on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 7.5 cents less than one week ago and 19.9 cents less than one month ago but 28.7 cents more than one year ago. The average price has risen 56.9 cents since the start of the year.
“Based on rapid price drops in the Los Angeles wholesale gasoline market this week, we expect the price drops to continue as Thanksgiving approaches,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
