The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped Wednesday for the 16th consecutive day, decreasing 2.8 cents to $4.081.

The average price has dropped 12.5 cents over the past 16 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The decreases follow a run of 19 increases in 21 days totaling 56.3 cents, which pushed the average price to its highest level since July 20, 2015.

It is 7.9 cents less than one week ago, but 32.7 cents more than one month ago and 24.4 cents higher than one year ago.
