Barona Resort & Casino in Lakeside has been named the best casino outside Las Vegas in USA Today’s annual readers’ choice awards.
The casino, operated by the Barona Band of Mission Indians, was one of 900 casinos outside Las Vegas nominated for the award. The nominates were made by gaming industry experts and USA Today editors.
“At Barona, we pride ourselves in providing our players with the best gaming experience in the
country so it is an honor to receive recognition as the ‘Best Casino Outside of Las Vegas’,” said General Manager Rick Salinas.
“It is almost poetic to receive this top distinction because Barona is patterned after the casinos from the golden age of Las Vegas when the casino player was the focus,” he added.
The casino features 2,500 slot and video poker machines and 120 table games. The adjacent resort has 400 guest rooms and suites with views of the Barona Valley and the championship Barona Creek Golf
Club.
