San Diego is the second California market where Zillow Offers is available. The service was launched in Riverside in March, and the company plans to expand into Sacramento and Los Angeles by early 2020. Zillow Offers was first tested in Phoenix in 2018.
Under the program, sellers upload information about their home onto Zillow’s website. Within 48 hours, the company will make a preliminary cash offer. If the seller accepts, they get to choose the closing date, anywhere from five and 90 days out
Zillow will then make minor repairs and list the home on the open market.
“Sellers who sell their home to Zillow love the flexibility, convenience and certainty of selling to a company they already know and trust,” said Zillow Brand President Jeremy Wacksman. “We are on a mission to transform real estate, and with our San Diego launch today, we are one step closer to delivering a seamless transaction experience to home buyers and sellers across the country.”
Zillow said it expects the new program to be particularly popular among San Diego’s large population of military personnel, who often have little time to sell a home before an active-duty move.
Home sellers can check their eligibility by entering their address on the Zillow Offers page.
