Located near Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, the 42-acre resort dates to 1933 and was once owned by newspaper magnate James Copley.

“La Casa del Zorro is a hidden gem right in San Diego County,” said Brian LaGrange, executive vice president of American National Investments, parent of The Patio Group. “The resort aims to be ‘the getaway from the getaway,’ allowing travelers to leave the crowded pools behind and immerse themselves in the peaceful experience of resort meets the desert sun.”

The resort has 48 hotel-style rooms and 19 casitas, each with its own private pool or Jacuzzi. There are five lighted tennis courts, four pickle ball courts, an Olympic-size lap pool, a fitness center, a yoga studio and a spa. Dining options include the Fox Bistro, Fox Den Bar and outdoor Rose Garden Terrace.

Borrego Springs is known for both the desert environment and as one of the few “dark-sky communities” offering a clear view of stars, galaxies and planets.

The Patio Group includes such San Diego restaurants as the Patio on Goldfinch, Himmelberg’s in the East Village, and four Surf Rider Pizza Co. locations.
