Kat San Andres, music director and assistant program director with XHTZ-FM Z-90, has added the title of music director for XHRM-FM Magic 92.5 to her duties. Both radio stations are owned by Local Media San Diego, which also owns XTRA-FM 91X.

In 2004, San Andres arrived at Z-90 as a morning show intern. She worked in the promotions department before joining the programming department as programming assistant in 2005. Later, she was promoted to music coordinator, followed by music director and assistant program director.

“I love my family here at Local Media San Diego and am grateful to be embarking on this new adventure,” said San Andres. “This is the music I grew up on.”

Randy Williams, program director, said, “Kat’s passion for the music and her dedication to the company is impossible to go unnoticed. She was a shoo-in for this vital role. She’s absolutely flourished at Z-90 and we look forward to watching her take Magic 92.5 to new heights.”

Local Media said San Andres fills the Magic 92.5 music director role left open by Lenny Balistreri, who remains executive producer of Local Media’s three morning shows.

The company also announced that Matt Mohney has been named overnight host for the 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. slot. Mohney is relocating from KZFN-FM Z-Fun 106 in Moscow, Idaho.
